Job Description: Our client is a livestock processing facility within 2 hours of Darwin City and needs another Livestock Hand to join the team. While it is not station work, you will be working in an intensive livestock situation with a high turnover of animals and this is a great opportunity to get your start in this exciting field. Working under the direct supervision of the owner, your days will be spent mixing feed rations and feeding out, drafting and inducting stock, undertaking animal health and husbandry tasks and general facility maintenance. Flexibility around working hours is a must due to the nature of the business.
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- Previous livestock experience essential
- A great sense of humour
- Be reliable, honest, respectful and good manners
- HR licence is desirable
- Mechanical and fabrication skills will be highly regarded
- Previous sale yard or feedlot experience highly regarded
- Willingness to learn
- Affinity with the Northern Australian Livestock Industry, people & culture
- Awareness and compliance with all Biosecurity and Animal welfare Laws essential

Our client is open to house dogs but due to biosecurity and animal welfare issues pig dogs, working dogs and horses are banned from the facility.
