Job Description: Our client seeks a skilled stockperson with solid livestock experience to support all aspects of feedlot operations, with a focus on animal husbandry. Duties include inductions, treatments, mustering, and pen movements, plus work with a breeder herd—handling weaners, processing calves, and assisting with calving. Horses aren’t used; motorbikes/quads are, and pens are walked. The role works closely with the Manager and Leading Hand.
Daily tasks include:
- Daily checks for sick or injured animals
- Process and treat livestock
- Maintain accurate records of animal health and treatments
- Support the mixing of feed and feeding-out
- Operate and maintain various types of machinery
- Working collaboratively within a small team environment
We are looking for:
- Skilled in low-stress stock management
- Proven ability to diagnose and treat cattle health issues
- Efficient, clear-headed performer under pressure
- Solutions-oriented with a practical approach to problem-solving
- Good computer, written, and numeracy skills
- Effective communicator with a positive, can-do attitude
- Clean, tidy, punctual, and dependable
- HR Licence highly regarded
- 10/4 roster schedule
