Job Description: Our client runs a highly successful, well maintained 3000 hectares irrigated cropping enterprise just outside of the vibrant farming community of Moree, NSW. They are looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Manager to join the team to take on aspects of the day to day management of the operation. This role is ideal for a family looking to settle into a role long term.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Effectively assist to manage and plan farming programs to meet operational targets
- Adhere to annual cropping budgets whilst meeting a high standard of productivity and compliance
- Recruit, train and retain supervisors and staff while fostering a positive team culture with the highest standard of WHS
- Conduct effective staff management through Toolbox meetings, competency assessments and performance reviews
- Ability to effectively communicate with owners, supervisors, staff, contractors and other administrators
- Ensure accurate and up to date record keeping in line with company policies and procedures
- Assist to plan, manage and budget for annual maintenance and capital improvements
Key attributes needed for this role:
- 2 years in a similar Management role
- Expertise in irrigated cotton and cereal crops
- Solid foundation with utilising current technology
- Mechanical aptitude and welding/fabrication skillset highly beneficial
- First Aid & Chemical Certification/Accreditation
This position is highly suited for a family looking for a long term stable position. Our client is offering a fully renovated large family home, with 4 bedrooms and 2 brand new bathrooms and established gardens. Outside pets are negotiable on application and a work vehicle and fuel are provided for both work and personal use within reason. Only 20km from a major town with a school bus service at the front gate for the multitude of public and private schools along with childcare options available in Moree, NSW.
