Job Description: Our client is seeking two enthusiastic Farm Hands to become part of their large, dynamic team. The property covers 2,500 acres and is home to 1,000 broodmares along with a small herd of cattle. They’re looking for versatile all-rounders to join their farming and maintenance crew. Each day will offer variety, with tasks ranging from livestock care and horse handling to mechanical work, building upkeep, and general property maintenance.
Role Responsibilities:
- Perform general property and building maintenance, including repairs, fencing and upkeep of infrastructure
- Operate and maintain farm machinery, vehicles, and tools, ensuring all equipment is safe and functional
- Manage irrigation systems and water supply infrastructure across the property
- Care for livestock including feeding, health monitoring, calving assistance, and administering treatments
- Assist with horse handling and transport, including loading, unloading, and basic husbandry
- Maintain workshop standards, conduct minor mechanical repairs, and ensure safety procedures and records are followed
Role Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in general building and property maintenance
- Mechanical aptitude, including welding skills and the ability to carry out minor repairs
- Understanding of irrigation systems and water infrastructure
- Hands-on experience in livestock care, particularly with cattle
- MR Truck licence or a willingness to obtain
- Competent in the safe operation of farm machinery and tools
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and accurate record-keeping
- Relevant licences or certifications for machinery and chainsaw operation (preferred)
These are long-term roles with room to grow and develop within the team. For the right candidate, our client is happy to provide support in obtaining a truck licence for horse transport. On-farm accommodation is available, and a convenient bus service connects you to the well-equipped town of Scone for supplies and amenities.
