Job Description: Our client, a well respected family operation, is looking for an able and fit person to join them as an MC Truck Driver. Carting livestock, mainly sheep and sometimes cattle, they cover a large portion of the Eastern States carting to and from properties, saleyards, feedlots and meatworks. They are seeking a desirably experienced driver to be part of the team, though are willing to look at applicants with the right attitude to train up to the position. You will be driving long distances using one of their modern Kenworth Prime Movers with either a B-Double or Road train behind you. You will need to have the fitness and capability to be able to load and unload and have an understanding of carting livestock and your capable working dogs are welcome to join you. You will be willing to work and be away overnight for the longer trips. The business undertake all the maintenance from the base in Cowra, NSW. If this position interests you, you will:
- Have a current MC licence (or HC and be open to upgrade)
- Desirable livestock carting experience
- Be willing to work away overnight
- Adhere to NHVR and logbook guidelines
- Provide evidence of medical fitness and Truck licence
- Undergo random drug and alcohol testing
- Be fit and able bodied
The operators of the business are a friendly family enterprise who are willing to offer shift work to the right applicants and understand the need for a balance with work. They are well respected within the industry and offer an above award kilometre rate with a range of allowances making this an extremely attractive position. You could reside within a 500km radius of the Cowra base and the owners are willing to negotiate in regards to the location of the truck during times off. While experience MC Driving is desirable the owners are willing to train up an applicant with the desire to enter the industry who presents with a willingness to be trained and commit.
